Weekend before last, we drove to Oakhurst Village to partake in Dogtober Fest. There was a dog costume contest, which we unfortunately were too late for. After meeting doggies and visting vendors, we had some grub and brew at Universal Joint.
Yes, Truffles is wearing last year’s costume…we just didn’t get around to getting her a new one. 😛
We went to Taste of Atlanta on Saturday. It was a great day, interrupted with only some minor rain drops. We had a blast!
We made it through all of the VIP wine tasting tables and ended up ordering a case of wine, too. Yes, we splurged on the VIP tickets, but I think it was worth it. We certainly didn’t get to sample all of the food there…that would have been too much.
At the VIP event, we also helped paint the Blue Moon billboard. Take a look at our artistic efforts!
Need another fix of doggie pix? I’ve got em! Hotel Indigo’s Canine Happy Hours (look for one of our bar tenders, Earl), a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen race for the cure which doubled as Prada’s birthday party, and Lexie’s first year birthday party.
Over the past weeks, we’ve gone to Hotel Indigo for their Canine Happy Hour! This is a great event to help socialize both dogs and peeps. 🙂 Here’s a collection of pix from the latest happy hours we’ve been to.
For the Susan G. Komen race for the cure, the Babes for Boobies team held a fundraiser at The Grove. This was also a doggie meet-up/birthday party for Truffles’ bff, Prada. Happy Birthday, Prada!
What do you get, when you mix doggies, dresses, and tuxedos? A puppy prom, of course!
June’s meeting of the Smyrna-Atlanta Toy Dog Meetup Group included the awesome 2009 Puppy Prom! Kevin and I struggled for weeks trying to decide what Truffles would wear. Kevin searched on-line for a suitable dress but we couldn’t decide on one. The solution: we made the dress ourselves.
Using one of her cocktail dresses (yes, she has a cocktail dress) as a template, we came up with this fabulous design.Version 1 didn’t turn out all that good, but version 2 did much better. It wasn’t perfect, but held up very well. I figure that we’ll try to make her a few more clothes to learn how to sew and finally put that sewing machine to some good use.
Check out the 2009 puppy prom photo album to check out Truffles and all her doggie meetup group friends!
A few weeks ago, we were invited to the 2009 Spring Fling. This was an event hosted by the breeder from whom we got Truffles. www.mysticangelschihuahuas.com.
Truffles was reunited with her doggie mama, Foxy Lolita, and her doggie daddy, Sir Diesel Kennedy. She also saw her brother, Barney. There were lots of other chihuahuas, many cute lil’ puppies (Kevin got particularly attached to one of them), and lots of fun, games, and prizes.
Truffles was crowned Queen of the Spring Fling and received a prized pink and white furry doggie bed.
In this album, you’ll find Truffles celebrating her one-year birthday party, chowing down on birthday cake that daddy Kevin and grandma Sandra made for her. There are also some pictures from Easter, Truffles munching on the innards of one of her toys, and what she does with her food, when we started her on a new brand.
The Atlanta Pet Parade benefited the Atlanta Humane Society. Check out all the doggies that participated. Both Prada and Truffles even participated in some of the doggie competitions. Check ’em out!
I got some cool photo gifts for Christmas–lights, backdrop stand, gels, and a slave flash. Backdrop paper came in recently, and what a great way to try out the new mini-studio, but to take doggie pix!
Prada, Truffles’ bff, came over and they had a good time. Prada more than Truffles–Truffles hates clothes.
After about 2 hours of shooting (don’t worry–there were plenty of doggie breaks and treats), and almost 400 pictures later, here are the best album shots.
It snowed in the Atlanta area on March 1st. Truffles HATED the snow. She doesn’t like the cold weather anyhow, and we didn’t torture her for more than a few minutes while we snapped some pictures of her in the fluffy white stuff.
The following weekend, we’ve got wonderful sunny and warm weather. This made for a great weekend at Piedmont park. Truffles got to meet other doggies at the dog park.
Here are two more truffle albums for your viewing pleasure!
Truffles’ fifth photo album is from a day at the dog park. See Truffles making doggie and people friends as she romps around in the small dog park at Piedmont Park’s dog park.
In the Reindog Parade album, Truffles meets a whole lot of other doggies dressed up in their festive holiday gear at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Check out some of the other doggie contestants as they compete in various categories, like Best Puppy, Look-a-like, Botanical, and other themes. See if you can spot the doggie that leaves a special “present” for the judges.
