Truffles wins!

We took Truffles to PetSmart last night. PetSmart had a Halloween picture session, along with a pet parade, and a pet costume contest. Truffles had a great time meeting other doggies big and small all dressed up in their cute costumes–she even met another doggie with the same name!

After meeting doggies, and munching on Pup Corn snacks, Truffles walked in the pet parade where all doggie participants and their owners walked around the store. Judges observed the paraders, and awared four prizes to the best costumes.

Truffles, in her caterpillar costume, walked away as one of the winners in the costume contest. We’re so proud.  🙂

Oh, and she’s now 4 lbs and 3 oz, at just over 6 months old.

We also entered her picture in the PetSmart halloween photo contest. You can view the picture gallery of all entries at http://animal-pictures.petsmart.com/. Go to the album and do a search on “caterpillar” and give Truffles a cool vote! I did misspell her name in the posting…doh! 🙁

Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner. We just HAD to get Truffles a costume.

After a lot of coaxing, treats, peanut butter, and many pictures later, here she is!

Even more Truffles pix…

Need a fresh fix of Truffles pix? Here’s her latest album.

Truffles2

Truffles went to Lake Lanier for the first time. The water was a bit chilly for her, but she had a good time, and we kept her safe with her doggie life vest.

Another first, Truffles went to the dog park at Piedmont Park. This was her first time meeting other doggies. She loves to chase other dogs, but doesn’t like being chased. She still had a good time meeting other dogs.

Finally, Truffles made an appearance at the Atlanta Pet Rescue’s benefit at Mezzo: Yuppies for Puppies.

Has TXTing gotten expensive?

I seem to recall that TXT messages used to cost 5 cents to send, and 0 cents to receive. Then the rates climbed to 10 cents/0 cents, then 10 cents/10 cents. Is 20 cents now the norm? I get a bulk plan of unlimited, but I do pay $10 a month for it.

Word Art

Wired Magazine (on-line) has a nifty article, showcasing the speeches of some of those involved in current politics, being transformed into art through http://wordle.net. Being a democrat, I found the one for McCain very suitable.  🙂

Check out the article at http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/09/michelle-obama.html. Read the comments–as they point out, these are open to interpretation, and certainly someone is bound to use these as a basis for selecting one person or the other.

I ran some of my own postings through http://wordle.net. Give some of your written work a shot and see what comes back.

Conversion in Progress…

After a few weeks of testing, and some design work, I’ve choosen to proceed with the revamp of my site from PMachine to WordPress. WordPress’s interface for admin is nicer, and while similar in features, looks more polished, and I think is easier to work than PMachine’s.

In any case, I’ve loaded all my postings, updated links, and have configured the site to allow you to register and participate! As a registered user, you can comment on postings–agree, disagree, sound-off, whatever. I will, of course, moderate your comments, but I do accept critique and praise equally well.

Some of the site areas will still be updated as I transfer the old site graphics and layout to the new software. Don’t be taken by surprise if things look a bit inconsistent during the first few weeks while I work out all the kinks.

MOVIE: Crazy Eights

Watched this through on-demand on Comcast. Well, didn’t watch the whole thing. It was boring. Actors didn’t do much to keep viewers attention. We turned to watch a Monk episode after wasting about 30 minutes on this waste of cable bandwidth.

Site Changes in Progress

I’ve been using blogging software to manage the basic bits of our website, and I think it is time to make some changes. I want the software to be a bit more powerful–I don’t know yet if this is it,  but going to start checking it out.

Please be patient as I mess work through the site and convert to this new software.
