Crappy Comcast Cable/DVR Service Strikes Again

A few weekends ago, SyFy Channel was replaying it’s Tin Man mini-series, based on the Wizard of Oz. This was a total of three, two-hour episodes. I was doing some other work at the time with this playing in the background. I didn’t realize that it was six hours, until the third episode started. With a little over an hour left, I ended up recording the last portion of the episode on the Comcast DVR so that I could do something else.

This morning I figured I’d watch the rest of it, since I had already invested about 5 hours and I did want to see how it turned out. That was the plan. The VCR ate the tape. Oh wait…it’s not a VCR..its a DVR..there is no f***ing tape, yet the piece of crap still managed to completely clobber the recording, making it completely unwatchable. What a piece of crap. Did I mention what a piece of crap that thing is (take your pick…the DVR or the Comcast service).

And of course, no “legal” on-line streaming of the episodes, either from SyFy, or from Comcast’s fancast.com. Sigh. Crap.
